When I left Advance, I spent 9 and a half years with the USMC and then used my helicopter experience to join Sikorsky Aircraft in June 77. This year marks 25 years with them and I'm presently based at NADEP, Cherry Point, NC under contract with the Air Force as their on-site engineer providing support for their aging MH-53J Pave Low helicopter made by Sikorsky in the 70s. Quite a challenge and if it wasn't for a lot of the skills I learned as a machinist, my job here would be a lot more difficult. Though I miss Westfield, my friends there and the family atmosphere of Advance, I've raised a son and daughter here in NC and call it home and the place of my eventual retirement.
